2024 PREVIEW
The Blue Devils suffered a rare losing record, but it wasn’t totally unexpected with a young team and tough schedule. The growing pains should help Old Forge compete in the division and district this season. As always, they must stay healthy as a Class 1A team with a small roster.
Old Forge returns their backfield with senior leadership. T.J. DiMattia is back at quarterback and Cael Krushnowski is a returning starter at tailback. Nick Hewitt and Frankie Pero will also get snaps in the backfield. Chris Rasmus returns at wide receiver with Pero, Ryan Novak, and Robby Solfanelli will also get reps at the position. The new tight end will be Isaih Rodriguez with Joey Dominick providing depth.
The Devils return four starting linemen including left tackle Jake Lucarelli, center Noah Michaylo, right guard Richard Rosado, and right tackle Will Wozniak. Gavin McNichols is penciled in at left guard. Tomas Olmos, Lorenzo Marsico, and Liam Price will provide depth up front.
Wozniak and Michaylo are returning starters at defensive end while some combination of Rosado, Lucarelli, Marsico, and Olmos will fill the defensive tackle spots. Rasmus is back at outside linebacker with Hewitt on the other side. Rodriguez and Rylan Gutowski will provide depth. Pero is a returning starter at inside linebacker with Dominick and Dan Churla getting time the as well. Krushnowski and DiMattia are back in the secondary with Solfanelli, Novak, Savion Cupil, Bobby Pezzuti, and Elio Castaldi competing for the other spots.
Rodriguez returns as the placekicker and punter. Michaylo and Novak will handle long snapping and Rasmus is the holder.
