2026 PREVIEW
At one point last season, it looked like Scranton Prep’s run of championships was about to come to an end. But the Cavaliers played their best football down the stretch and captured another district title. This season could follow a similar path as there are some big holes to fill. Until someone knocks them off, however, the Cavaliers remain the kings of Class 3A and will once again be a contender in the division.
Oliver Swingle saw playing time at quarterback last season because of an injury and now takes over as the full-time starter. Owen Jeffers and Caden Whetsel will provide depth.
Brandon Farmer takes over at tailback, while Braedon McPartland returns at fullback after accounting for more than 1,000 yards of total offense last season. Both starting wide receivers return in Noah Krzywiec and Liam Haggerty. Connor Ranallo, Charlie Skoff, Owen McPartland, Luć Williamson, and Christian Voytek provide depth at the position.
Ricky Dewey takes over at tight end, with Levi Carter serving as his backup.
The Cavaliers return two starters on the offensive line in Elijah Myers and Chris Paris. Lucas Lengyel is expected to take over at right tackle, while Jordan Henning, Glenn Waters, and Corey Seliga will compete for the right guard position. Cosmo Ligorio and Landon Sinkaus are also candidates for one of the starting spots on the left side.
Myers returns to anchor the defensive line and is one of the top returning defenders in the LFC. Paris is also back as a starter. Dewey and Carter could see time at defensive end, while Waters, Henning, Lengyel, and Jack Lafferty will compete for playing time at defensive tackle.
McPartland returns at linebacker and will be joined by Farmer. Jeffers, Mulligan, Henry Barrett, Ethan Barrett, Jake Conaboy, and Roman Lowe provide depth at the position.
Both starting cornerbacks return in Haggerty and Krzywiec. Owen McPartland and Whetsel are the new safeties, with Ranallo, Skoff, and Decker providing depth in the secondary.
Tyer Bianchi returns as both the kicker and punter.
