2026 PREVIEW
West Scranton is slowly building a foundation to bring the Invaders back to the top of the LFC. The wins haven’t come yet, but there is no doubt progress is being made. The LIAA didn’t do West Scranton any favors by moving the Invaders back to LFC I after their enrollment landed them in Class 6A. Still, the product on the field should continue to improve in 2026.
A training camp battle will determine the new starting quarterback. Freshman Austin Sostre takes over the position, while former starter Jake DeLuca moves to a wing/running back role. Michael Green will also see carries, while Carmine Salvatore takes over at fullback.
The wide receiver corps is experienced and talented, with Quincy Mosley, Kazual Colbert, and Jonyae Sostre expected to play significant roles in the new spread offense. Sostre will also see time running the ball. Sam Novak returns at tight end, with Jordan Tutino providing depth.
The Invaders return the right side of their offensive line, with Brandon Castillo back at tackle and Oliver Smith returning at guard. Alan Silva is also back as the starting center. Aiden Diaz and Avery Ruane are penciled in at left tackle and left guard, respectively.
The defensive front should be a strength with Diaz and Novak returning at defensive end. Silva, Castillo, and Ruane all have experience at defensive tackle.
Jonyae Sostre and Brayden Rodney are expected to start at outside linebacker, while Green brings experience at inside linebacker. DeLuca, Salvatore, and Gabe Slater provide depth.
The secondary also returns some experienced players, including Mosley, Colbert, and Shane Beck. Elijah Robbins, Josef Lloyd, Colden Young, and Charles Johnson will also compete for playing time in the defensive backfield.
Anderson Dominguez takes over the kicking duties, while Beck will be the new punter. Mosley and Jonyae Sostre will handle the return duties on special teams.
QUOTE FROM COACH MANETTI: Looking to build on a productive offseason, the Invaders will lean on their returning starters for a veteran presence.
