2026 PREVIEW
It was a magical season for the Trojans, who went unbeaten in the regular season, won a league title, captured a district championship, and picked up a state playoff victory. Those accomplishments won’t be easy to repeat, but North Pocono returns the majority of its skill players. The Trojans will have to fill some holes up front on both sides of the ball, but they are once again contenders across the board.
Quarterback Chase Zimmerman didn’t always make the headlines, but he was steady running the offense and helped the Trojans produce nearly 1,400 yards of offense. Joe Briskie returns at running back, and North Pocono hopes he can stay healthy after injuries limited him during his first two seasons. Jayden Taylor, who played tailback last season, moves to fullback. The two combined for more than 1,000 rushing yards in 2025.
Wide receiver Cole West is one of the premier playmakers returning in the district after accounting for more than 1,100 yards of total offense last season. Henry Wolff is also back as a starter, while Max LaFave, Tate Bowen, and Connor Ruddy provide depth. Matt Laboranti takes over at tight end, with Oram Abutbul also expected to see snaps at the position.
The offensive line lost several veteran players, but the returning linemen have experience. Brody Bull is expected to start at left tackle, with Garrett Gillette back at left guard. Mikey Hatala and Pauly Zangardi will compete at center, while Zach Bell takes over at right guard and Nate Gola is expected to start at right tackle.
The defensive front will feature Gola, Bull, Hatala, and Zangardi at defensive end, with Zangardi, Gillette, and Jaycee Miller competing for time at defensive tackle. Laboranti and Wolff will compete for one of the linebacker spots, while Taylor returns as a starter at the other. Bell, Abutbul, Briskie, Gavin Swartz, and Bell provide additional depth.
The secondary should be a strength of the defense. Zimmerman and Bowen return at cornerback, while West and LaFave are back at safety. Ruddy provides depth in the secondary.
Shane Youngblood returns as the placekicker. Wolff is one of the top returning punters in District 2 and will also handle kickoffs. LaFave returns as the long snapper.
QUOTE FROM COACH DOLHON: Excited for the season, need to replace many talented players but the off-season has been tremendous.
