All season long Susquehanna quarterback Weston Yannone has stood in the spotlight for the Sabers. But on Saturday, it was senior running back William Marcy who shined brightest.

Marcy controlled the game on the ground for the Sabers, rushing 31 times for 254 yards as Susquehanna rolled to 426 yards on the ground.

Yannone started the scoring for the Sabers with a 58-yard runaway in the first quarter. His two-point pass to Rykin Hobart made it 8-0.

Marcy went to work on the next series, carrying the ball four times for 53 yards before Yannone took it in from 12 yards out for the 14-0 lead.

Old Forge answered when TJ DiMattia hit Cael Krushnowski on a slant for a 25-yard touchdown. Josh Cistola nailed the PAT to cut the lead to 14-7.

Yannone found Mason Keyes all alone for a 57-yard scoring strike and cashed in on a one-yard run on the next two Susquehanna possessions. Marcy contributed 42 yards rushing and 10 yard receiving in the second of the two possession and also found Yannone on a throwback pass to the sophomore for 17 yards.

Old Forge closed to 28-14 on a DiMattia one-yard run to open the second half but Parker Overbaugh went 53 yards on a reverse on the ensuing possession to push the lead to 36-14.

The Blue Devils would back Susquehanna up on its next possession and force a punt out of the endzone. The snap was fumbled and recovered by the Sabers but a pass attempt fell incomplete and DiMattia would score on the next play from four yards out.l with 2:02 left in the third.

Old Forge would stop the Sabers again after a 13-play drive but Yannone would pick off a DiMattia pass four players later and Susquehanna would put the game away on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Yannone to Overbaugh.

The Blue Devils final score came on a Krushnowski 82-yard kickoff return – his fifth of the season.

Yannone finished with three rushing touchdowns and 94 yards rushing to go with 74 yards passing and two scores.

DiMattia led the Old Forge offense with 155 yards passing and a touchdown to go with his two rushing touchdowns. Chris Rasmus hauled in six catches for 96 yards.
