2024 PREVIEW
Mid Valley bounced back last season with seven wins and with a very experienced roster returning, have put themselves in a position to compete for the division and district title. The Spartans were one of the best running teams in the LFC last season and hope to balance the offense more with the passing game.
Brett Yanoski took over at quarterback last season because of an injury, but showed a ton of potential and now will be the starter Day 1 of 2024. One thing that will be easy is handing the ball off to Jakob Lesher. Lesher rushed for 1,485 yards past season and 18 touchdowns. Jayden Manson and Mason Vinansky will provide depth at tailback. Kaleb Perry returns and leads the way for the running game at fullback. He will be backed up by Adam Pezanowski and Cole Marcinko. Connor Hughes returns at wide receiver while Gavin Rapoch, Wyatt Youngblood, Connor Bartlett, Nick Pinto, and Nick Pegula will all be in competition for reps at the other wideout spot. Jake Bondy is a returning starter at tight end with Rhys Williams and Richard Lupcho also seeing time at the position
The offensive line has all five starters returning including left tackle Devon Hill, left guard Nick Jackson, center Rob Mattioli, right guard Gavin Richards and right tackle Dylan Maceyko.
Williams is back at defensive end with Cole Bryant taking over on the other side. Both tackles are experienced – Jackson and Mattioli – with Richards and Setzer also in the rotation. Hughes and Bondy return at outside linebacker with Pezanowski and David Turbessi providing depth. Rapoch and Parry are returning starters at inside linebacker while Marcinko and Richard Lupcho will be the backups. The secondary has Lesher back at one cornerback with Youngblood first in line to take over the other side. Pegula will provide depth at corner. Pinto, Manson, and Vinansky will compete for time at the safety position.
Special teams have experience with Bondy returning as the punter, Bartlett the long snapper and Pinto the holder. The kicker will be decided during training camp.
