2024 PREVIEW
Holy Redeemer took its lump last season, a year after having the best season in school history. They were forced to play a lot of inexperienced players, and it was evident on the field as they failed to win a game. However, that experience will help in 2024 as the Royals have a ton of players back. They will also play an independent schedule to be more competitive each week.
Tommy Dugan is back at quarterback and will be backed up by Brady McDermott. Josh Kreidler also returns at tailback with Nathan Orlando and Jason Nazario providing depth at the position. Kyle Ly moves to fullback and Mike Zbierski, Kyaire McClean, and Nick Latinski all started at wide receiver last season. Josh Grochowski and Kevin Arroyo could also get snaps at wide receiver. Alex Snyder is experienced at tight end with Ly seeing some time there, too.
The Royals return three starting linemen: left tackle Kacy Miller, left guard Chase Swoboda, and center Cole Lisowski. Aiden Vo is penciled in at right guard and Patrick Martin and Brendan Makarczyk will compete to become the right tackle.
Both defensive ends return – Snyder and Ryan Ondich. Swoboda and Miller will see time at defensive tackle. Kreidler and John Ondich will be the new outside linebackers and Ly and Dugan are returning starters at inside linebacker. Grochowski is back at cornerback with either Latinski or Arroyo joining him on the other sides. Both safeties, McClean and Zbierski, are experienced. Orlando provides secondary depth. Zach Schultz will be a key member of the special teams.
QUOTE FROM COACH KELLEY: This group has put in a ton of work this offseason and has improved tremendously. Our entire roster gained a lot of experience last season. We are going to lean on that experience to keep improving as a program.
