2020 PREVIEW
The Sabers will bring back an experienced bunch of skill players as they try to break through to the upper echeleon of the division. Their biggest challenge as usual will be depth as they need to avoid the injury bug which has plagued them in recent seasons.
With a year of experience under his belt, Garrett Decker will quarterback the veer offense again and should be more dangerous this season. Calvin Scheideler comes back as the tailback while Jon Sisler returns at fullback. Spencer Beamer and Jesse DeLouisa are returning starters at wide receiver and Gavin Baker is also back at tight end.
The offensive line only brings back two starters in Collin Smith and Isaiah Rosa. The other three positions are being decided in training camp and this unit will be key to a successful season.
On defense, the Sabers will have Brad Cottrell, Rosa and Baker up front while others compete for the other two spots. Sisler and Decker are two returning starters at linebacker. All of the secondary returns in Cole Soden, Schiedler and DeLousia.
Layne Fisk will handle the kicking duties.
