2026 PREVIEW
The Sabers struggled through the 2025 season with a very young roster, but the valuable experience gained by so many underclassmen should pay dividends in 2026 as Susquehanna looks to compete for a playoff berth. While the Sabers return plenty of experience, they remain one of the youngest teams in the area.
Susquehanna quarterbacks Gabe Maby and Caedon Stone split time last season and could once again share the position in 2026. Maby proved to be the more effective runner, while Stone excelled as the passer. Owen Cook provides depth at quarterback.
Jaxson Williams, Jack Fabrizi, and Travis Towner are expected to share duties at running back, while Joey Allen steps in at fullback. Mason Keyes returns as the team’s top wide receiver, with Keegan Reese, Maddox Tarbox, and Carson Conklin competing for playing time. Abel Seidel takes over at tight end.
The offensive line returns three starters: left tackle Chad Benson, left guard Alan Rink, and right tackle Cam Hawley. Jayden Snowball is the projected starter at center, while Malakai Martel and Hunter Hobart will compete for the right guard position. Aiden Kelsey and Max Kowalewski add depth in the trenches.
Defensively, Rink returns at defensive tackle, while Hawley is back at nose tackle. Martel, Kelsey, Hobart, and Carter Wilson provide depth along the defensive front. Xavier Barber and Allen gained valuable experience at linebacker last season, while Reese and Fabrizi are expected to compete for playing time there as well.
The entire secondary returns, with Keyes and Stone back at cornerback and Maby returning at safety.
Donovin Baldwin returns to handle the kicking duties, while Fabrizi will also contribute on special teams.

QUOTE FROM COACH COOK: We only have three rostered seniors but return several Juniors and Sophomores that saw a lot of playing time last year. We will be stronger and more physical on both sides of the ball but will still need some newcomers to fill vital roles on both side of the ball.
