Lidge Kellum and Anthony DeLucca made sure their last game at Jake Sobeski Stadium was a memorable one. The former Warriors combined to score all three touchdown and the defense took care of the rest as the Pioneers beat the Miners 21-7 in the 74th Annual UNICO All-Star Game.

The Pioneers, who were made up of players from Berwick, Hazleton, Holy Redeemer, Lake-Lehman, Nanticoke, Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming Area and Wyoming Seminary, struck quuckly as DeLucca scored on a 2-yard run to take the early lead.

Kellum, who was named the MVP, scored later in the quarter on a 15 yard run and the Pioneers had a 14-0 lead after one quarter.

The Wyoming Area running back would strike again in the early second quarter with a 68-yard run. He finished with 204 yards on the evening. That would be the last score for the Pioneers, but was enough.

The Miners did get on the board in the third quarter and it was a Dallas connection involved, but not how it usually was seen during their careers. On a trick play, running back Dylan Geskey threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Mountaineers quarterback Brady Zapoticky to cut the lead to 21-7. But after that the defenses would take over and no more scoring was done.
