It’s never easy to get on the field at DelawareValley, but Matt Wagner was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Warriors. He had 280 career tackles including 92 his senior season that help DV win the District 2 title.  Wagner also had three interceptions and played fullback where he led a running game that rushed for over 2,500 yards. He was a team captain both his junior and senior seasons.

Wagner was the 2014 NPF District 2 Defense Player of the Year and also an All-District linebacker in 2013. He was a three-time Lackawanna Football Conference Division I first-team linebacker. In his senior season, Wagner was Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State linebacker and Pennsylvania Football News second-team All-State. He was also a first-team Big School linebacker for EasternPAFootball.com. Wagner was named to the 2014 WNEP Dream Team and continued his acadmic career at the Division 1 Air Force Academy where he wrestled.

Delaware Valley coach Keith Olsommer on Wagner: “Matt was as consistent a player as we have had at Delaware Valley. He was a team lead and we could always count on him to make big plays for us when we needed him.”
