In his time at Abington Heights, Logan Hivner was the heart and soul of the Comets’ defense. A four-year varsity player and three-year starter, Hivner manned the middle of Abington’s defensive line and compiled 264 career tackles, 57 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 7 forced fumbles. His senior season, he had 86 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 6 sacks and led the Comets to the District 2 Class 5A Championship. Hivner also played guard on the offensive side of the ball.

Hivner was the 2016 NPF Lackawanna Football Conference Division I Defense Player of the Year and first-team defensive line. He was also an NPF All-District 2 defensive lineman. He was first-team defensive line in Lackawanna Football Conference Division I in 2015 and Honorable Mention in 2014. Hivner was named a second-team All-State defensive lineman by the Pennsylvania Football News his senior season and Honorable Mention all-state his junior season. He was also named an Honorable Mention defensive lineman in 2016 by EasternPaFootball.com. Hivner played in the 2017 Dream Game.

Abington Heights coach Joe Repshis on Hivner: “Logan was a very powerful and athletic DT.  He had extremely quick hands and feet and an explosive first step off the snap of the football.  He played with great leverage and technique and used his strength and speed to his advantage.  His motor never stopped and he refused to stay blocked.  He was in constant pursuit of the football.”
