Mike Galantini was a powerful player on both sides of the ball for Valley View. As a senior captain, he led the Cougars to their first-ever District 2 Championship. On defense, he recorded 70 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 9 sacks in 2011. For his career, he had 150 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 15 sacks. On offense in 2011, Galantini led a rushing game that produced over 3,800 yards which included two 1,000 yard rushers plus another 1,000 yard rusher in 2010.
Galantini was named a NPF 2011 Lackawanna Football Conference Division I first team offensive and defensive lineman. He was also an NPF All-District 2 offensive lineman. He was also a second-team offensive lineman in the division in 2010. Galantini was named a first-team all-state defensive lineman by the Pennsylvania Football News and all-state defensive lineman by the Pennsylvania Football Writers in 2011. He was also named an honorable mention defensive lineman by EasternPAFootball.com. Galantini was named the Hookey Reap Defensive Award winner for the best lineman in the LFC and also was a member of the WNEP Dream Team. He played his college football at Division 1 FCS Holy Cross where he made 36 starts on the defensive line. Upon graduation, Galantini played professionally in Finland.
