From the moment Tyler Armillay stepped foot on the field at Riverside Veterans Memorial Stadium, the Lackawanna Football Conference took notice. Armillay was a four-year starter for the Vikings and was a part of the offensive line as a freshman that helped get Riverside to the state championship game. He excelled in both run and pass blocking as the leader of the Vikings that saw him named a team captain twice. On defense, he was tough to move out of the middle of the defensive line as he compiled over 100 tackles over his career.
Armillay was an NPF Lackawanna Football Conference first-team Division all-star offensive lineman all four seasons he played (2010-2013). He was named an NPF Lackawanna Football Conference first-team Division all-star defensive lineman in three of those season. Armillay was also named an honorable mention offensive lineman by EasternPAFootball.com. Armillay started in the Lions Club Dream and continued his football career at Division 2 Assumption College where he played 44 games for the Greyhounds as an offensive lineman.
Former Riverside coach Evan Prall on Armillay: “Tyler had a love for the game that was second to none. He would constantly work on his game whether it was in the weight room or watching film. As a coach, I always had faith in Tyler knowing his assignment and getting it done. But more importantly Tyler is a phenomenal person. He was always respectful and he had a genuine care for his teammates.”
