The Dallas football team put up one of the best seasons of the decade in 2019 and there were many contributors to the Mountaineers’ success. Lenny Kelley is one of those players that stands out. Kelley was a team captain and a one-man wrecking ball on offense as he led Dallas to a district championship and a state championship game appearance. He ran for 2,729 yards and 41 touchdowns while averaging 9 yards per carry. For his career, Kelley rushed for 5,352 yards and 70 touchdowns and 7.6 yards per carry. At linebacker, Kelley was the team’s second leading tackler in 2019 with 89 tackles, 9.5 tackle for loss, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions.
Kelley was the NPF 2019 Wyoming Valley Conference Big School Offense Player of the Year and a first-team running back. He was a first-team linebacker in 2018 and 2019. He was an NPF All-District 2 running back last season. Kelley was named an all-state running back by the Pennsylvania Football Writers and a first-team running back by the Pennsylvania Football News. He was also named a first-team running back by EasternPAFootball.com. Kelley will continue his football career at Division III Thadeus Stevens College.
