2026 PREVIEW
The Blue Devils endured their toughest season since 1997, but hopes are high that 2026 will be a bounce-back year. With only three seniors on the roster, Old Forge will lean heavily on a talented group of younger players, many of whom gained valuable experience last season, as it looks to improve on a two-win campaign.
The biggest hole to fill is at quarterback. Dante Gonzalez is the favorite to earn the starting job, with Parker Harte providing depth. After the running game struggled a season ago, Rylan Gutowski and Joey Dominick will be counted on to revive it. Dominick and Carson Honick are expected to share duties at fullback.
Two receivers who started games last season return in Ayden Aversa and Savion Cupil. Bobby Pezzuti, Elio Castaldi, Sean Williams, and Carlo Pisano will also compete for playing time at wide receiver. Dominick is also expected to line up at tight end, with Enzo Tallo and Alex Schlegel providing depth.
Injuries along the offensive line limited the Blue Devils’ production last season, but the experience gained by several younger linemen should pay dividends this fall. Gavin McNichols and Dan Churla return as starters, while Daunte Marsico also brings valuable experience. Dodge Broxmeier, Michael Hartman, and Ethan Salerno are expected to compete for the remaining spots.
Defensively, Castaldi, Gutowski, Gonzalez, and Tallo are expected to see time at outside linebacker. Dominick returns at inside linebacker, with Honick and Luke Aulisio providing depth. Pezzuti, Aversa, Williams, and Jahaziel Vale are projected to compete at cornerback, while Cupil, Harte, and Divyam Patel are expected to see time at safety.
Tallo, Aversa, and Castaldi will be key contributors on special teams.
