2026 PREVIEW
A new era begins at Lake-Lehman as former Black Knight Mike Mully takes over the program. The new coaching staff hopes to bring fresh energy to a team that has struggled to contend for championships over the past several seasons. Mully’s goal is to build the program on a stronger foundation by increasing participation, fostering greater commitment, and establishing a culture that allows Lake-Lehman to compete with the top teams in the WVC.
The Black Knights will transition to a spread offense with Anthony Magnotta returning at quarterback, while Jesse Strenfel will also compete for playing time. Devon Albee returns at fullback with Damon Bond serving as his backup. Dylan Heinrich and Coldyn Harris will share duties at tailback. Benjamin Brelsford and Tyler Collura step into the starting roles at wide receiver, while Valentino Cassano returns at tight end and Vincenzo Sparacio will also see time at the position.
Up front, Zach Koval returns at center to anchor the offensive line. Devon Wright, Joel Bacon, Marco Lenza, and Rennen Smith are all expected to contribute in the trenches.
Defensively, Logan Rybka and Koval provide experience along the defensive front, with Bacon and Sims also expected to see significant snaps on the line. Linebacker is the strength of the defense, led by three returning starters: Albee and Smith on the inside and Cassano on the outside. Bond is expected to start at the other outside linebacker position.
In the secondary, Magnotta is the lone returning starter and will lock down one cornerback spot. Aiden Miller and Harris will compete for the opposite corner position, while Jeremy Matusick and Heinrich are expected to battle for playing time at safety.
Brady Windsor returns to handle kicking duties for the Black Knights.
QUOTE FROM COACH MULLY: As we head into the season, we know we face a unique challenge. We have a smaller roster than many of the teams we’ll face, and our schedule is one of the toughest around. That means every player will need to embrace multiple roles, stay healthy, and compete on every snap. What gives us confidence is the talent, character, and work ethic in our locker room. We may not have the biggest numbers, but we have players committed to improving every day and competing with anyone on our schedule. Our goals aren’t defined by roster size or by who we play. Our goals are to play disciplined, physical football, improve every week, and represent our school and community with pride. If we do those things, we will give ourselves a chance to win every Friday night. This team has something to prove, and we’re excited for the opportunity. We know the road won’t be easy, but we believe in each other—and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
