2026 PREVIEW
The Chargers have been consistent over the past two seasons, posting back-to-back 6-5 records. They hope 2026 is the year they take the next step and contend for a division championship.
Carbondale will turn to Nick Zaccone at quarterback after he saw playing time last season and threw five touchdown passes. The strength of the offense will be its backfield. Francisco Roman returns after rushing for 950 yards and 16 touchdowns. Mason Voglino is back from injury to serve as the primary backup, while Darion McKenzie will also see carries. Cole Balderas returns at fullback after rushing for 332 yards, with Dean Mushow and Ethan Lee providing depth.
Caedon Voglino will line up at wide receiver, but expect him to move around the formation in Carbondale’s offensive scheme. He accounted for 610 total yards in 2025. McKenzie, Stephen Oakley, Dominion Ramos, and Kayden Fitzgerald round out the depth chart at receiver. Joey Wagner and Jerial Galaza are the projected starters at tight end.
The offensive line brings plenty of experience, with four players who started at some point last season returning: left tackle Chayse Roche, left guard Owen Kovaleski, center Mateo Spinelli, and right tackle Parker Mursch. Mason Travis steps in at right guard, while Ayden Sopko, Caedon Melko, and Evan Lisi provide depth.
The defensive front is anchored by Jahquest Kirby and Roche. Mursch, Travis, and Spinelli are projected to fill the remaining spots, with Wagner and Rocky Henderson providing depth. Oakley and Balderas return at linebacker, while Mushow, Lee, Fritzgerald, and Nick Roman are expected to compete for playing time.
In the secondary, Francisco Roman and Caedon Voglino return as starters, with Mason Voglino and Travis Spenser projected to fill the other positions. McKenzie, Ramos, and Oakley add depth in the defensive backfield.
Levi Gabriel returns to handle both the kicking and punting duties. Francisco Roman and Caedon Voglino are expected to be key contributors in the return game.
QUOTE FROM COACH ARTHUR: Experienced upfront and in backfield. Team speed will be a plus. SMALL on defense, need to create pressure.
