2026 PREVIEW
Abington Heights had another successful season, although the Comets finished as runners-up in both the division and district. They will be in contention again in 2026, but will have to replace several key players from last year’s team. Still, plenty of proven talent returns, giving the Comets a strong foundation.
Noah Kayal takes over at quarterback after gaining valuable experience when an injury forced him into action last season. He should be ready to excel in the new role, with Chris Bohn providing depth. Jayden Anglin returns for his senior season after rushing for 1,389 yards in 2025. Scott Weiland and Anthony Castellani will also see carries.
The new fullback will come from a group that includes Jesse Reed, Ben Levan, and Landin Sobolewski. Evan Keiper returns at wide receiver and will be joined by Rodman Azar, Michael Arcure, Race Moraski, Anthony Hanyon, and Liam Peoples. Cooper Manning takes over at tight end, with Bohn and Adam Hufford providing depth.
Three starters return on the offensive line: left guard Thomas Reese, center Chris O’Boyle, and right guard Max Gordon. The Comets could move the returning starters around depending on how the position battles play out during camp. Eamon Stevenson, Nate Jury, Adrian Azar, Bruce Butala, Tyler Reuter, and Vince Vergnetti will also compete for playing time up front.
Reese returns to anchor the defensive line. Manning, Hufford, and Reuter will compete for the defensive end positions, while Jury, Vergnetti, O’Boyle, and Sawyer Wilson are candidates at defensive tackle. Adrian Azar, Stevenson, and Butala could see time at either position.
Anglin and Gordon return at linebacker, with Weiland, Hanyon, Moraski, Bohn, Carson White, Reed, Sobolewski, and Levan providing depth.
Kayal returns at cornerback, with Keiper expected to start on the opposite side. Rodman Azar is back at safety, while Arcure, Hanyon, Moraski, Peoples, and Castellani provide depth in the secondary.
Jack Hartshorn returns as the kicker and will take over the punting duties. Arcure will handle the long-snapping responsibilities.
QUOTE FROM COACH REPSHIS: We are very excited for the 2026 season. We have a solid nucleus of experienced and athletic players returning. A talented group of underclassmen and newcomers will compete for playing time and add depth in all three phases of the game.
