Here are the rankings after Week 11 powered by Gaughan Auto Store:
- North Pocono Trojans (11-0), defeated Crestwood 42-21 (Last week: 1)
North Pocono took care of Crestwood with realtive ease and remain the only unbeaten Big School in District 2. The Trojans continue to play very well on both sides of the ball and will now have a chance to win their first district title since 2016. They played Dallas earlier in the season and won the game handily.
Next up: vs. Dallas (6-5) – Friday - Abington Heights Comets (9-2) defeated Wyoming Valley West 53-7 (Last week: 2)
Quarterback Nick Bradley looks as good as ever and now the Comets have a chance to avenge one of their regular season losses. They also will defend their district title against the team they defeated in the title game in 2024.
Next up: vs. Delaware Valley (6-5) (Listen on NPF) – Friday - Delaware Valley Warriors (6-5), defeated Pittston Area 7-6 (Last week: 4)
The defense played their best game of the season and escaped with a road win. They will now play the Class 5A district title against defending champion Abington Heights. The Warriors had their eight-year district run stopped last season by the Comets and would like to start another streak,
Next up: at Abington Heights (9-2) – (Listen on NPF) – Friday - Pittston Area Patriots (8-3), lost to Delaware Valley 7-6 (Last week: 2)
Tough loss to end the season for the Patriots, but it was a season to remember for the Pittston Area community. The senior-laden roster made their mark in the school’s football history and leave 2025 as a division champion.
Season Complete - Dallas Mountaineers (6-5), defeated Valley View 17-0 (Last week: 5)
The Mountaineers are playing their best football and have now reached the district title game for the third straight season. The defense came up with a shutout on the road, but Dallas will have to bring their A game next Friday in a rematch with North Pocono where they lost by three touchdowns.
Next up: at North Pocono (11-0) – Friday - Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack (7-4), defeated Hazleton Area 46-20 (Last week: NR)
The Wolfpack won with ease in the semifinals and now the get a rematch with Williamsport who they lost to in the last week of the regular season. Wilkes-Barre lost the subregional last year to the Millionaires so they have plenty to prove. They are officially the District 2 champions for the second straight season as they are the last 6A team standing.
Next up: vs. Williamsport (6-5) – Friday
SMALL SCHOOL
- Berwick Bulldogs (11-0), defeated Hanover Area 49-9 (Last week: 1)
No issues for Berwick in the semifinals and now comes the big test as the Bulldogs try to take down the defending champion and pernnial district power Scranton Prep. The Dawgs will have homefield and have the unbeaten record, but they might still be seen as an underdog by some people. Chance for glory once again for a program that has had many great championship moments.
Next up: vs. Scranton Prep (6-5) (Watch on NPF) – Friday - Scranton Prep Cavaliers (6-5), defeated Wyoming Area 42-0 (Last week: 3)
A statement win for Prep as they go into Wyoming Area and wipe out the Warriors. They will have their hands full this Friday against the only unbeaten Small School team, but the Cavaliers have a winning pedigree and also have won four straight district titles.
Next up: at Berwick (11-0) (Watch on NPF) – Friday - Lackawanna Trail Lions (10-1), defeated Nativity 50-6 (Last week: 4)
The Isaac Ryon Show continues at Tunnel Hill. The senior running back is worth the price of admission running behind a very good offensive line and don’t forget the defense is pretty good, too. This is a rematch of last year’s subregional title game which the Lions won going away.
Next up: vs. Tri-Valley (7-4) (Listen on NPF) – Friday
- Wyoming Area Warriors (9-2) lost to Scranton Prep 42-0 (Last week: 2)
After an emotional win the previous game, the Warriors were shellshocked at The Jake last Friday. They were outplayed on both sides of the ball to end their season. There was some hope to get a rematch with Berwick but unfortuanately for them, they couldn’t get there. Although Wyoming Area only lost two games this year, there were no titles brought back to the school for the first time in a couple seasons.
Season Complete - Lakeland Chiefs (10-1), defeated Holy Redeemer 49-0 (Last week: 5)
It was talked about how important the No. 1 seed was in the Class 2A and the Chiefs took advantage of it scoring 49 points in the first quarter and able to rest their starters. They now get a date with their long-time rival Dunmore for the district title. Lakeland won their last title in 2022 while the Bucks won in 2023.
Next up: vs. Dunmore (8-3) – Friday - Dunmore Bucks (8-3), defeated Riverside 27-7 (Last week: 6)
It was evident last Friday that Dunmore has come a long way since that Week 1 loss to Riverside. They have erased the mistakes they made earlier in the season which was costing them games. They avenged one loss from earlier in the season and now will have a chance to do it again this Friday.
