Every week, we will highlight some of the best special teams performances from the WVC and LFC presented by Northeast Industries. Here is Week 9:
JARED JACKSON, Riverside
Jackson has been a dynamic playmaker for the Vikings all season and has been a major reason for their success this season. Although, he might get attention for his offense, he is a special teams weapon as well as we saw last Friday. He returned a punt 62-yards for a touchdown to help Riverside defeat rival Old Forge.
JOHN JADUS, Pittston Area
When a game is dead-even on offense and defense, special teams can be the difference in a game and that was the case for Pittston Area last Friday. Wallenpaupack scored a touchdown with the extra point pending. Jadus raced through the line and blocked the kick to keep a one point lead. That would be the difference as the Patriots end up winning by one point.
PAXTON GREBB, Mid Valley
Grebb is in his first year playing varsity football and has had an impact for the Spartans special teams as the primary kicker. This past Friday, he made all five of his extra points and also kicked a career-high 35-yard field goal in Mid Valley’s win over Western Wayne.
