DAWIN DOWNEY, Hanover Area
Downey lives a little bit in the shadow of his big brother, but he is quietly having an outstanding freshman season. He has made an impact all over the field and made a statement last Friday in the San Souci Struggle running back the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown in the Hawkeyes win over the Nanticoke
LOGAN GESKEY, Dallas
Geskey is one of best two-way players in the WVC and a leader of the Mountaineers. However, he also does a lot of the little things to help win games. In the Battle For The Old Shoe, he had a big game on offense. but also stood out on special teams, blocking a punt that resulted in a safety and also blocked an extra point in Dallas’ win over Lake-Lehman
KARTER LENT, Honesdale
In a game that saw the two teams combine for 81 points, it was a special teams play that eventually decided the game. With Honesdale up one point, West Scranton would attempt the game-winning field goal. The kick never go past the line of scrimmage as Lent blocked the kick and the Hornets escaped with 41-40 victory over the Invaders.
