Every week, we will highlight some of the best special teams performances from the WVC and LFC presented by Northeast Industries. Here is Week 1:
CHANCE HALL, Hanover Area
Hall got some experience last season and now it looks he could be a serious weapon for the Hawkeyes. He kicked a 45-yard field goal on Friday that would have been good from 50 yards. Hall was also 3 for 3 on extra points and showed a strong leg on kickoffs.
DEONDRE MILLER, Pittston Area
Plenty of coaches talk about setting the tone early in a game. But most don’t expect it to be a freshman. Playing in his first varsity game, Miller blocked a Mid Valley punt on the first possession and it gave them momentum they never lost during the contest in the Patriots win over the Spartans.
HUNTER RODGERS, Western Wayne
The Wildcats lost some key skill players including their return men from the 2024 season. After the defense made a play and recorded a safety, Rodgers made his presence known returning the free kick 63 yards for a touchdown as Western Wayne cruised to a win over Susquehanna.
