Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 7:
CARTER DAVIES, Dunmore
Another Bucks lineman that contributes on both sides of the ball, Davies has shown to be a powerful blocker and a good technician. On offense, he helped Dunmore accumulate 325 rushing yards in the win over Mid Valley last week. He also contributed on defense from his tackle position with four tackles.
MAX GETZIE, Wyoming Area
The Warriors continue to get better up front and Getzie has emerged as a leader of the unit. The senior helped Wyoming Area rush for 347 yards and score 49 points in a bounce-back win over Hanover Area. He also had two tackles and three quarterback hurries on defense.
BRANDON LOCKETT, Pittston Area
Lockett has solidified the left tackle position for Pittston Area as he excels in both run blocking and pass protection. He helped the Patriots rush for 206 yards in their win over Wilkes-Barre. He is a proven leader for his team who has clinched at least a tie for the WVC Division 1 title.
MATT RODGERS, Crestwood
The Comets had some big shoes to fill coming into the 2025 season and Rodgers has done just that. Just a freshman, he helped Crestwood rush for 225 yards and score 54 points in the win over Hazleton Area. He didn’t give up a sack and also had two pancake blocks.
OLIVER SMITH, West Scranton
The Invaders came into 2025 with a young and inexperienced offensive line, but the improvement has been noticeable. One of the players that has stepped up is Smith who helped West Scranton rush for 171 yards and three touchdowns. The sophomore has helped the offense improve every week.
