Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 1:
BYRON AXTELL, Scranton Prep
The Prep running game has been powerful as the offensive line has shown they can push opposing defenses around. Axtell was the leader of the unit in the Cavaliers win over Loyola Blakesfield. He actually had to switch positions up front because of an injury and still helped Scranton Prep to almost 300 yards rushing.
EVAN DEAN, Western Wayne
Dean has been a factor on both sides of the ball for the Wildcats which isn’t a surprise considering the way he played his junior year. He helped Western Wayne to over 300 yards of total offense and had nine tackles from his defensive line position.
CHASE KRUGULSKI, Wyoming Area
The Warriors ran wild last Friday night and you have to tip your hat to the offensive line. Krugulski, who is just a sophomore, had three pancake blocks as Wyoming Area ran for 366 yards and five rushing touchdowns. The unit also didn’t give up a sack.
LOGAN LEMIN, Wallenpaupack
The Buckhorns want to establish the run and they will need good play up front on the offensive side of the ball. They got that last Friday with Lemin leading the way for Paupack. He helped the Buckhorns 350 yards of total offense including 239 on the ground.
ANTHONY PASSERO, Honesdale
After missing the 2023 season, Passero is picking up where he left off after his sophomore season. He graded out 100% by the Hornets staff which means he was perfect on his assignments and execution to help Honesdale rush for 353 yards. He also had two tackles on defense including a TFL.
