Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 10:
LUCAS EVANS, Lackawanna Trail
The Lackawanna Trail offense has been dominant most of the season and Evans has been one of the reasons why. At 6-3, 265, Evans is both strong and powerful with his run blocking. He shows good footwork and helped the Lions rush for 222 yards in the division championship win over Riverside. He also has been a force on the defensive line.
EVAN FUNK, Honesdale
A three-year starter at center for the Hornets, Funk has been strong up front for one of the LFC’s best offenses. Honesdale has balance with their offense so he has been good with run blocking as they ran for 336 yards in a win to clinch a postseason berth. He has also been good in pass protection and contributes on defense at end.
NICK MARINO, Valley View
Having to replace an All-District 2 center, Marino has stepped into that position and has excelled. The senior has helped the Cougars rush for 223 yards per game and led them to the No. 1 seed in Class 4A. Valley View’s offense has averaged 33 points per game the second half of the season.
CHRIS RENNA, Delaware Valley
The Warriors have a strong tradition on the offensive line and Renna has continued to make the unit one that helps them score points on offense. He has been outstanding in pass protection and has shown great technique in his run blocking. Delaware Valley’s balance has made them tough to deal with for opposing defenses.
JARRATT WEBB, Dallas
Webb was a standout defensive player last season and continues to do that in 2024. However, he was made a starter on the offensive line for the first time in his career and has made a big impact on that side of the ball. The Mountaineers have averaged over 312 yards per game and have shown the ability to both run and throw the ball.
