The Skinny: A rematch from Week 3 where Susquehanna came from behind to defeat the Bucks for only the second time in school history. The Sabers controlled the line of scrimmage up front on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Dunmore will get a chance to defend their Class 2A title, but it will be on the road and it will once again will be on a Saturday. The forecast is for no rain this time around.

The Skinny: Mid Valley had their biggest win of the season a couple weeks ago to help earn a share of the division title. Lake-Lehman was runner-up in WVC Division 2. They hung around in their game against Dallas last week, so they have a chance. But they will have to find a way to slow down the Spartans’ Jakob Lesher.

The Skinny: Dallas will try to defend their Class 4A title and face an upstart Honesdale team. Expect a high-scoring game as both offenses have been very good, especially the second half of the season. Both teams have outstanding senior quarterbacks and running backs so it should be an entertaining one.

The Skinny: These two Class 6A teams didn’t play in the regular season. Wilkes-Barre has had a roller coaster season while Scranton started out strong before losing five of their last six games. Both teams have very good athletes, so we expect this one to actually be decided in the trenches.

The Skinny: The is a rematch from Week 2 where Valley View went out to a 28-0 lead before Crestwood made it interesting. Both teams didn’t have their quarterbacks the first game and that still applies to the Comets who lost Jaden Shedlock for the season. The Cougars running game has been tough to stop most of the season.

The Skinny: Berwick is playing their best football year as they have jumped on the back of RB Ty’Meere Wilkerson who has rushed for at least 267 yards per game over the last three weeks. Western Wayne counters with RB Josh Vinton who leads all District 2 rushers with 1,824 yards and 30 total touchdowns. The Dawgs need their defense to step up for a chance to pull the upset.

The Skinny: Carbondale has been a surprise this season while Wyoming Area won their second straight WVC Division 2 title as expected. The Chargers will have to find a way to stop the Warriors dynamic offense led by Lidge Kellum. Carbondale has managed to hold their own in the trenches against some pretty good offensive lines, but they will have to bring their A game on Friday.

The Skinny: Trail has been a dominant force in the postseason in recent year. Nativity has some weapons, but they will have to find a way to stop the Lions’ Wing-T. Easier said then done. Lackawanna Trail also became the first District 2 champion in 2024 with Old Forge and Holy Cross not qualifying for the subregional.

The Skinny: Lakeland kept this game close in the first half of the first meeting earlier this year before Riverside took control of the game in the second half. Both team are banged up at quarterback, but expect Chase Taddonio and David Naniewicz to play. The Vikings were disappointed with their perfomance last week but still have a title within their grasp.
