Every week, we will highlight some of the best linemen from the WVC and LFC presented by Honesdale National Bank. Here is Week 9:

Altieri has been helping the Cougars stuff the run all season long and he did it again Friday with Valley View holding Wallenpaupack to 29 rushing yards. He also contributed to the pass rush with three quarterback hurries. He finished the game with five tackles and one tackle for loss.

Lakeland has had a dominant offense, but that wouldn’t be possible without the guys up front and Clauss-Walton has been one of the leaders. The Chiefs had 386 total yards of offense in the win over Western Wayne who has one of the best defenses in the LFC. He also was key member of the defense up front.

Conte returned from a stint at IMG Academy and has made an immediate impact with the Bucks. He has solidified an already stout run defense and also has become a solid blocker at tight end. Opposing coaches are game planning with him in mind which shows you how good he has been in a short time.

JOHN JONES, Crestwood
Nobody has run the ball as good as Crestwood this season and Jones is one of the reasons why. The compiled 400 yards rushing against a solid Berwick defense and nobody has really stopped them yet in 2022. Jones also makes an impact on the defensive line with three tackles and one tackle for loss last Friday.

The big nose tackle had one of his best games of the season in the win over Riverside holding the Vikings to 17 points. Santarsiero had four tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack and caused havoc for the Riverside potent passing game.
