Here are the rankings after Week 2 presented by Gaughan Auto Store:

  1. Valley View Cougars (2-0), defeated Delaware Valley 35-14 (Last week: 3)
Valley View broke a losing streak against the only school in the LFC in which they have a losing record against. And they did it in impressive fashion with two 100-yard rushers again. Cougars look like the team to beat in District 2 Class 4A
Next up: vs Abington Heights (1-1) (Watch on NPF)
  2. Williamsport Millionaires (1-1), Lost to Altoona 31-24 (Last week: 1)
Williamsport had the lead but Altoona rallied for the victory. A tough road loss to a quality opponent. The defense will have to take a look at the film and see what they can do better.
Next up: vs. Mifflin County (0-2)
  3. Wallenpaupack Buckhorns (2-0), defeated West Scranton 49-0 (Last week: 5)
The schedule has been light but the Buckhorns have been impressive nonetheless. We knew about the skill players but the line seems to be formidable. This will be a big test on Friday as they get a third straight home game to start the season
Next up: vs. Scranton Prep (2-0)
  4. Delaware Valley Warriors (0-2), lost to Valley View 35-14 (Last week: 2)
DV has a brutal schedule to start the season and it won’t get any easier this week as they head to suburban Philly. Slow starts have plagued the Warriors as it seemed they finally figured out things in the second half of both losses but it was too late.
Next up: at Downingtown East (2-0) (Listen on NPF)
  5. Dallas Mountaineers (1-1), defeated Wyoming Valley West 28-27 OT (Last week: NR)
A dramatic win in overtime for the Mounts as Jackon Wydra was the hero as he was responsible for all four touchdowns and the game-winning 2 point conversion. Dallas back in the rankings after a one week absence.
Next up: vs. Wilkes-Barre (1-1) (Listen on NPF)
  6. Wyoming Valley West (1-0), lost to Dallas 28-27 OT (Last week: 6)
Heartbreaking loss for the Spartans against rival Dallas. They played hard, especially Isaiah Cobb who carried the ball 53 times. Yes, 53 carries. Valley West will be on the road Friday for the first time this season.
Next up: vs. Pittston Area (0-2) (Listen on NPF)

  1. Scranton Prep Cavaliers (2-0), defeated Scranton 49-0 (Last week: 1)
It has been easy so far for the Prep who has been resting starters in the second half. And of course, it has been the London Montgomery Show as well. They should be challenged a litte bit more on the road against a ranked Big School. It could be a fast game too with two of the top running backs in the district involved.
    Next up: at Wallenpaupack (2-0)
  2. Wyoming Area Warriors (2-0), defeated Wyoming Area 31-30 (Last week: 2)
Whew is all Coach Randy Spencer can say. With a comfortable 31-10 lead in the fourth quarter, the Warriors defense couldn’t stop Wilkes-Barre and made some mistakes. It took a botched chip-shot field goal attempt to save the game, but still a quality win against a Class 6A team.
Next up: vs. Nanticoke (0-2) (Watch on WAFA)
  3. Western Wayne Wildcats (2-0), defeated North Pocono 27-6 (Last week: 3)
The Wildcats defense should get a lot of credit for the first two games. This is old-school football with a strong running game and a defense that has not given up a touchdown this season. Western Wayne will take to the road for the first time and head to New York to play one of the better Catholic school programs in the state.
Next up: at Moore Catholic (NY) (0-0) – Saturday
  4. Old Forge Blue Devils (2-0), defeated Dunmore 28-7 (Last week: 4)
Blue Devils taking care of business. The defense was much better limiting Dunmore’s offense to zero passing yards and under 100 total yards for the game. The balance on offense will bode well as the season goes on.
Next up: at Carbondale Area (1-1) (Listen on NPF)
  5. Lakeland Chiefs (2-0), defeated Lackawanna Trail 27-14  (Last week: 5)
Lakeland went into a familiar venue and came out with their second victory of the season. The rivalry between these two teams is a good one so a quality win for the Chiefs.
    Next up: vs Susquehanna (0-2)
  6. Lackawanna Trail Lions (1-1), lost to Lakeland 27-14 (Last week: 6)
They came up a little short, but played a ranked team tough. Will be another good matchup this week against another LFC Division III opponent.
Next up: vs. Riverside (1-0) (Watch on NPF)
