Every week, we will highlight some of the best special teams performances from the WVC and LFC presented by Figliomeni Pharmacy Care. Here is Week 2:

JAYDEN RUSYN, Wyoming Area
In a game that was decided by 1 point, Rusyn made all his kicks including a first quarter field goal. The Warriors needed every point to hang on for their second win of the season and their second straight victory over a Class 6A school.

T.J. SCHMALZE, Wallenpaupack
There are many ways to get off to a fast start in a football game, but returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown is the ultimate fast start. Schmalze had an 83-yard to propel the Buckhorns to an easy win over West Scranton.

JEREMY VEGA, Hanover Area

Vega made the tackle on three of the four kickoffs that Susquehanna returned.After the Hawkeyes took the lead with less than three minutes left, Vega not only made the tackle on the ensuing kickoff, but his big hit forced a fumble that Susquehanna had to scramble back to cover at its own 1, virtually ending the Sabers’ hopes of rallying.

HONORABLE MENTION: PR Kyle Marcinkevich, Mid Valley -39-yd punt return TD; KR Lamiare Saldano, Scranton – 83-yd kickoff retunr TD; KR Riley Moore, 85-yd kickoff return TD;
