Wallenpaupack Buckhorns (2-1) at Lakeland Chiefs (3-0)

Lakeland Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division Crossover
Lakeland 4-0
Last Meeting: 1979 Lakeland 60-14
Last Week: Scranton Prep 42, Wallenpaupack 10 ; Lakeland 42, Susquehanna 21
Players To Watch
Wallenpaupack: QB Mabret Levant; Lakeland: TE Lacota Dippre
The Skinny: Paupack has never beaten Lakeland and they haven’t played for over 40 years. But this matchup is between ranked teams and Buckhorns want to bounce back after a tough home loss. The Chiefs are looking to see where they stand as the team that is favored in Class 3A, Scranton Prep, played Wallenpaupack last week.
Favorite: Lakeland by 7

Tunkhannock Tigers (2-1) at North Pocono Trojans (2-1)

Last Week: Tunkhannock 29, Crestwood 21; North Pocono 46, Honesdale 21
Players to Watch
DL Justin Kozlosky; North Pocono: QB William Soma
The Skinny: Tunkhannock held on last week to pull a shocker while the Trojans cruised at home. This is an intriguing matchup as both teams are in Class 4A. The Tigers are playing for some WVC pride here as the LFC has a 9-3 lead head-to-head so far this season. Both teams have strong quarterbacks as the key matchup of the game.
Favorite: North Pocono by 6

Southern Columbia Tigers (3-0) at Wyoming Area Warriors (3-0)

Jake Sobeski Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm – Media: WAFA stream

Last Week: Southern Columbia 51, Loyalsock 15; Wyoming Area 47, Nanticoke 13
Players to Watch
Southern Columbia:
RB Gavin Garcia; Wyoming Area: WR Rocco Pizano
The Skinny: Battle of two teams that have state titles on their resumes from the last and only time they met in 2019. Tigers of course have more gold than Fort Knox while the Warriors title was their first. Southern will be the heavy favorite again but it will be interesting to see where Wyoming Area stands.
Favorite: Southern Columbia by 21

The Skinny: Both teams are riding two-game losing streaks and both teams are trying to qualify for the District 2/11 Subregional for Class 5A. Valley West was upset last week while Abington played tough in the first quarter against No. 1 Valley View before the Cougars pulled away.
Favorite: Valley West by 6

Western Wayne Wildcats (2-0) at Crestwood Comets (0-3)

Crestwood Stadium (Turf), Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com

Last Week: Western Wayne idle; Tunkhannock 29, Crestwood 21
Players To Watch
Lake-Lehman: DB Jaiden DeRosa; Crestwood: QB Jay Swank
The Skinny: Wildcats had to skip last week’s game in Staten Island so they will be fresh. The Comets are desperate after an 0-3 spot and need a win badly. Crestwood finally found their offense in the second half last week,  but it was too late. Wildcats are missing Army commit Caden Brungard but Luke Janiszewski has been a mirror image of his older brother Zane in running the ball.
Favorite: Western Wayne by 10

Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack (1-2) at Delaware Valley Warriors (0-3)

Wilkes-Barre: RB Howie Shiner; Delaware Valley: LB Justin Kalitsnik
The Skinny: The Wolfpack were missing starting quarterback Javant McLeary and it showed. Delaware Valley is another desperate team starting out 0-3 but with a brutal schedule of state ranked teams. This could be a preview of the District 2 Class 6A playoff game.
Favorite: Delaware Valley by 9

Last Week: Pittston Area 16, Wyoming Valley West 13; Hazleton Area 21, Berwick 14
Players To Watch
Pittston Area: QB Drew DeLucca; Hazleton Area: RB Ryan Matyas
The Skinny: Pittston had the surprise of the season last week upsetting Valley West. Nobody except maybe the Patriots and their faithful expected it. Cougars also captured their first win this year. Look for this to be a defensive battle.
Favorite: Hazleton Area  by 8

Last week: Lackawanna Trail 34, Riverside 0; Lakeland 42, Susquehanna 21
Players To Watch
Lackawanna Trail: WR Johnny Halter; Susquehanna: QB Colton Stone
The Skinny: After two closes losses, the Sabers couldn’t handle the Lakeland passing attack. The Lions defense got a shutout last week. These two have a mutual opponent already this year as Trail beat Riverside by 4 and Susquehanna lost to the Vikings by 1. Homefield should help the Sabers.
Favorite: Lackawanna Trail by 20

Scranton Knights (1-2) at Valley View Cougars (3-0)

John Henzes Veterans Memorial Stadium, Friday 7pm – Media: NEPAFootball.com
LFC Division Crossover
Valley View 17-10

Last Week: Scranton 35, West Scranton 7; Valley View 45, Abington Heights 6
Players To Watch
Scranton: WR Antonio Hairston; Valley View: CB Chris Conserette
The Skinny: Valley View was sloppy early, but it shows how quickly they can strike with three touchdowns in the second quarter. The Cougars have outscored their opponents 75-13 in the first half. The Knights are coming off an emotional Bell Game win. This game becomes a home game for Valley View because Scranton Memorial is still not ready.
Favorite: Valley View by 24

Players To Watch
Central Mountain: WR Connor Foltz; Williamsport: RB Nasir Hennigan
The Skinny: The Millionaires bounced back for a win last week and their defense didn’t allow any points. QB Frank Morrone to WR Jamaire Harden is the best passing combination in the WVC. Central Mountain is unbeaten but has a light schedule to begin the season including playing a Class 1A school last week.
Favorite: Williamsport by 12

Honesdale Hornets (1-2) at Riverside Vikings (2-1)

Taylor Veterans Memorial Stadium (Grass), Friday 7pm
LFC Division Crossover
Riverside 10-2
Last Meeting: 2015 – Riverside 34-0
Last Week: North Pocono 46, Honesdale 21; Lackawanna Trail 34, Riverside 0
Players To Watch
Honesdale: QB Aiden Collins; Riverside: OL Paul Riggs
The Skinny: Viking suffered their first loss of the season and having injury problems. Star wide receiver Reese Gaughan was forced into action at quarterback for the second time this season and he is considered their fourth string quarterback. Honesdale might have had a hangover after their comeback win in Week 2 because they were never in the game last week.
Favorite: Honesdale by 2

Shamokin Indians (1-2) at Nanticoke Trojans (0-3)

Frank Chicknoski Field (Grass), Friday 7pm
District Crossover
Tie 1-1

Last Week: Selinsgrove 33, Shamokin 0; Wyoming Area 47, Nanticoke 13
Players To Watch
Shamokin: RB Max Madden; Nanticoke: QB Seth Raymer
The Skinny: The last time these two teams met was in 1916. Yep, 1916. Both have struggled this season. The Trojans schedule has been tough but finding offense has been ever tougher.

Players To Watch
West Scranton: QB Dan Van Dusky; Mid Valley: RB Devin Ayala
The Skinny: Unfortunately, the Invaders cannot find any play makers while the Spartans have a ton. First meeting between these teams since the 80’s. Mid Valley has enjoyed home cooking the past two weeks and are reading to eat again.
Favorite: Mid Valley by 22

Carbondale Area Chargers (1-2) at Hanover Area Hawkeyes (1-2)

Memorial Field (Grass), Friday 7pm

Series: Hanover Area 5-2

Last Week: Old Forge 41, Carbondale Area 10; Holy Cross 22, Hanover Area 14
Players To Watch
Carbondale Area: RB Logan Wormuth; Hanover Area: WR Jake Zola
The Skinny: These teams have a mutual opponent this season in Holy Cross. Hanover lost to the Crusaders last week at home while the Chargers had a strong second half to defeat Holy Cross in Week 2. Carbondale loves running the ball while the Hawks want to air it out.
Favorite: Carbondale Area by 14

Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech Rams (0-3) at Holy Cross Crusaders (2-1)

Msgr. Crotti Field (Grass), Saturday 1pm

Last Week: Sayre 63, Col-Mont Vo-Tech 14; Holy Cross 22, Hanover Area 14
Players To Watch
Col-Mont Vo-Tech: RB Toby Zajac; Wyoming Area: OL Nick Cabets

Favorite: Holy Cross by 14
