The Skinny: John Henzes Veterans Memorial Stadium has hosted many state playoff games, but this is the first time Valley View will actually be playing in one. The Cougars haven’t won a state playoff game since 1992 when current head coach George Howanitz led Valley View to their only state football title. Valley View is ranked 6th and Bishop Shanahan 8th in PennLive Class 4A state rankings

Wyomissing Spartans (13-0) vs. Scranton Prep Cavaliers (11-0)

The Skinny: Prep is no stranger to state playoff games and winning them as well. The Cavaliers won a state playoff game in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 playoffs before bowing out to District 3 Middletown on all three occasions. They will now face the new District 3 power Wyomissing who took care of 2020 District 2 champion Lakeland last season. Wyomissing is ranked 2nd and Scranton Prep is ranked 3rd in PennLive Class 3A state rankings.

Canton Warriors (12-0) vs. Old Forge Blue Devils (11-0)

The Skinny: The Blue Devils are trying to reach the state semifinals for the first time since 2015. Canton is on a historical run. The teams do have a common opponent. Old Forge defeated Hanover Area 54-0 and Canton beat the Hawkeyes 60-7. Old Forge is ranked 1st and Canton is ranked 2nd in PennLive Class 1A state rankings.
