Adam Goeringer did it all for the Mountaineers in the early part of the decade. A three-year starter at linebacker and two-year starter at quarterback, the former Dallas team captain led the Mounts to a 20-3 combined record in his junior and senior seasons including a perfect regular season in 2010. On offense, he rushed for 1,519 yards and 24 touchdowns over the two-year span while throwing for 2,810 and 30 touchdown passes. Defensively, he had 260 career tackles. His senior year stood out as he accumulated 129 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, an interception and 7 forced fumbles.

Goeringer was the NPF Wyoming Valley Conference Big School Offensive Player of the Year and first-team quarterback in 2010. He was also named All-State Honorable Mention at quarterback in 2009 and 2010 by the Pennsylvania Football News and EasternPAFootball.com. Goeringer continued his football career at Division 2 Kutztown University where he started at linebacker.

If the game was on the line, he had to have the football. Because he was a fierce compeititor and didn’t want to lose, he took charge in the biggest games.
