NAME: Kurt Danneker
SCHOOL: Williamsport
LAST SEASON: 2017
POSITIONS: OL/DL

Kurt Danneker was the anchor of the offensive line that was part one of the most explosive offenses of the decade. A three-time captain, he helped Williamsport compile 6,903 total yards of offense in 2016 and 4,600 yards in 2017. That included 2,000 rushing yards by a running back his junior season. Danneker played in 46 varsity games during his career and was a key component of the Millionaires District 2/4 Subregional Championship in 2016. Although his primary contribution was on the offensive side of the ball, he did play defensive tackle as well.

Danneker was a 2016 and 2017 NPF first-team Wyoming Valley Conference Big School offensive lineman. He was Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State offensive lineman both his junior and senior seasons. Danneker was also named first-team All-State by the Pennsylvania Football News his senior season and first team offensive line by EasternPaFootball.com. He was also Honorable Mention All-State by Pennsylvania Football News his junior season. Danneker continued his football career at Division 1 FBS Ohio University where he is playing offensive tackle.

Willamsport coach Charles Crews on Danneker: “There was never any doubt where the ball was going when we needed a sure 3 yards in a game.  Kurt is the most enigmatic player that I’ve ever had the pleasure to coach.  A kind-hearted, affable young man transformed into a nasty, aggressive and intimidating force on the field.  His gregarious personality allowed him to have a huge impact on the community at large, especially with younger players and students in the district.  Kurt has been an active participant in our Millionaire Football O-line Zoom meetings during the quarantine.  Yet another way he has demonstrated his commitment to his alma mater and community.”
