Many high school football players play bigger than their size and Paul Cole was one of them. As a linebacker on defense, Cole was always quick to the ball and made plays even when he wasn’t supposed to. For his career, Cole had over 200 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 5 career sacks. Cole played fullback on offense and was the lead-blocker for a 1,000-yard rusher his junior season and then took over the tailback position where he rushed for 1,324 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Cole was named an NPF Wyoming Valley Conference Big School first-team linebacker in both 2012 and 2013. He was also a second-team running back his senior season. Cole was named an NPF All-District 2 linebacker in 2013.  He was also named Honorable Mention linebacker by EasternPaFootball.com

Former Coughlin coach Ciro Cinti on Cole: “Paul was a dedicated player who lead by example in practice and especially on game night. One of the toughest, hard nosed throw back players I ever had the privilege to coach. Her would try to to run through if it meant to win a game for the team. In his sophomore season I believe he physically fought every senior at least once, he was special.”
