NAME: Daiqwon Buckley
SCHOOL: Dunmore

Plenty of good running backs have played in District 2 over the years, but few were as good as Daiqwon Buckley. With a combination of speed and power, Buckley helped the Bucks win a district title reach the PIAA Class A state championship game his junior season. His best season was his senior year when he rushed for 2,322 yards and 35 touchdowns averaging 10.8 yards per carry and led Dunmore to a unbeaten regular season. A four-year starter on both sides of the ball, Buckley finished his career with 6,073 yards rushing and 84 touchdowns averaging 8.5 yards per carry. He was also a standout on defense at linebacker.
Buckley was a 2013 NPF Lackawanna Football Conference Division II first-team running back and linebacker. He also earned All-District 2 honors at running back. Buckley was named an all-state running back by the Pennsylvania Football Writers and a first-team all-state running back by the Pennsylvania Football News in both 2012 and 2013. He was named a first-team runnin back by EasternPaFootball.com. Buckley was a member of the WNEP Dream Team in both 2012 and 2013 and played in the Lions Club Dream Game. After high school, he played one year at prep school and then was a walk-on at Division I-FBS Temple University.
Former Dunmore coach Jack Henzes on Buckley: “Daquan Buckely was an explosive football player due to strength and speed. It was extremely difficult to tackle and bring him down on offense and on defense he played linebacker and could read exactly where the play was going. He made a huge impact as a four-year starter.”
