DUNMORE 42, WEST SCRANTON 7
Dunmore put together one of its most complete performances of the season Friday night, overpowering West Scranton, 42–7, at Dunmore Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Bucks were dominant from the opening kickoff, balancing an efficient passing game with a strong ground attack to secure a decisive Lackawanna Football Conference victory.
Quarterback Weston Yannone turned in a breakout passing performance, throwing three touchdown passes, including his first of the season. Yannone connected with Josh Dudick, Logan Miller, and Jack McHale for scores as Dunmore’s aerial game complemented its efficient rushing attack.
Yannone also scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season.
On the ground, Ryan Mecca powered the offense with 101 rushing yards, including a highligh-reel 50-yard touchdown run. The Bucks’ offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the night, allowing Dunmore to dictate tempo.
Defensively, Dunmore swarmed to the ball, limiting West Scranton’s run game. Constant pressure by the Bucks defensive front limited the Invaders passing game. Near the end of the half, Dudick intercepted West quarterback Jake DeLuca in the red zone to stop the Invaders best scoring opportunity and Dunmore went to the locker room with a 20-0 lead.
