PITTSTON AREA 48, NANTICOKE 13

NANTICOKE – Lucas LoPresto and freshman Kayden Bailey scored two touchdowns each Friday night to lead Pittston Area to a 48-13 victory at Nanticoke in a non-league meeting of teams in opposite divisions of the Wyoming Valley Conference.
LoPresto scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and a 46-yard punt return one minute into the second quarter.
Bailey ran 50 yards to set up a touchdown on the final possession of the first half, then scored the only second-half touchdown for the Patriots with a 56-yard run. He finished with 149 yards on eight carries.
“It’s a great time to be out there, especially with this team.”
Pittston Area came up with a defensive stop after fumbling on the opening kickoff, then got touchdowns 11 seconds apart.
Paulie Ferentino found John Jadus crossing the middle for what turned into a 50-yard touchdown pass. When Nanticoke failed to field the ensuing kickoff, Pittston Area took over at the 2 and L8oPresto scored his first touchdown.
Jude Ferentino made it 20-0 after one quarter on a 6-yard run.
After LoPresto’s second score, Bailey ran 8 yards for a touchdown and Santino Capitano scrambled in from the 12 on fourth down with 4.1 seconds left for a 41-0 halftime lead.
Nanticoke scored its first two touchdowns of the season in the second half on a 1-yard ian Walsh run and a 3-yard, Max Leonard-to-Jason Fondeur pass.
Pittston Area (2-1) will play its five-game Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 schedule over the next five weeks, beginning with a home game Friday against Wyoming Valley West (0-3).
Nanticoke (0-3) opens its WVC Division 2 schedule at home against Tunkhannock (1-2).
