CRESTWOOD 58, NANTICOKE 14

Crestwood gave its homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night, rolling to a 58–14 victory over Nanticoke in a Wyoming Valley Conference matchup.

From the opening kickoff, the Comets (2–2) dictated the pace. Crestwood’s offense struck early and often, using a mix of quick drives and explosive plays to put the game out of reach by halftime. The Comets scored in all three phases of the game, turning turnovers into points and overwhelming the Trojans with their speed on both sides of the ball.

Jaden Shedlock led the Comets with two touchdown passes and a blocked put return for a touchdown. Jacob Jeckell also rushed for two scores.

Nanticoke (0–5) briefly showed life with a pair of touchdown drives, but the Trojans’ defense simply could not keep Crestwood from breaking off big plays. Each time Nanticoke tried to claw back, the Comets responded with another lightning-quick score.

Crestwood’s ground attack consistently churned out chunks of yardage, while the passing game stretched the field to keep Nanticoke off balance. The Comets also capitalized on special teams opportunities, tacking on points in the return game and converting turnovers into short-field touchdowns.

By the time the fourth quarter began, Crestwood held a commanding lead and the outcome was no longer in doubt. With the running clock in effect, the Comets cruised home to their second win of the season, giving the homecoming crowd a dominant performance.

For Crestwood, the victory put them back over .500 but also showcased their ability to pile up points quickly and decisively. Nanticoke, still searching for its first win of the year, will need to regroup after being on the wrong end of another lopsided score.
