DUNMORE 35, MID VALLEY 13

The Bucks parlayed four touchdown runs by standout back, Ryan Mecca, with outstanding defense in the clutch to outlast Mid Valley 35-13 in an LFC Division 2 battle. Brandon Mecca added a 5^th touchdown rush for Dunmore who displayed a big-play ground attack to notch their fourth win of the season.

The Bucks drew first blood after athletic quarterback, Weston Yannone, scooted 36 yards down the right sideline to set Dunmore up deep in Spartan territory. Ryan Mecca got the Bucks on the board with his first scoring jaunt of the evening, from 5 yards away. The Bucks led 7-0 with 2:12 left in the opening quarter.

On their next drive, again the Bucks utilized a stellar ground game, moving the football to the Mid Valley 2. There, Ryan Mecca bullied over to put Dunmore ahead 14-0 with 8:10 remaining before halftime.

But the Bucks were not yet finished. Burly fullback Brandon Mecca got into the act, breaking a tackle and coasting 28 yards to the left corner of the end zone. It appeared as though the Bucks were firmly in control, holding a 21-0 advantage with less than two minutes remaining before ingtermission.

But the Spartans were able to get on the board before halftime. Quarterback Brett Yanoski covered the final three yards and the halftime score was 21-7 in favor of the Bucks.

The second half belonged to Ryan Mecca. The Buck senior tallied scoring runs of 54 and 29 yards to put Dunmore comfortably ahead 35-7 with 6:52 left to play in the football game. Dunmore ended up with 352 rushing yards on the evening.

Mid Valley was able to score once more when fullback Kayden Barnauskas scored on a 1-yard plunge with 2:41 left in the football game, making the final score 35-13 Dunmore. The Bucks, now 4-3, host traditional rival West Scranton in Week 8. Mid Valley at 3-4 will host Division 1 foe Scranton Prep next Friday night.
