HONESDALE 36, WESTERN WAYNE 0
At Western Wayne, Honesdale used the versatile running of Gabe Duda and a stifling defense to shut out the Wildcats 36-0. The win moved the Hornets to 2-4 and ended their 4-game losing skid.
Honesdale scored five rushing touchdowns, four by Duda, to knock off Western Wayne who fell to 2-4. Duda had scoring runs of 19, 36, and 12 yards in the second quarter to stake the Hornets to a 30-0 halftime lead. Those touchdowns were sandwiched around a 64-yard burst by Kobe White which gave Honesdale a 21-0 lead with 4:55 remaining before the half.
Duda finished off the scoring with a 4-yard plunge to move the score to 36-0 and send the game to the mercy rule.
The Hornets will return home next weekend to face division-leading Lakeland. Western Wayne will look to rebound from their home loss when they tangle with division foe, West Scranton.
