WALLENPAUPACK 37, HONESDALE 6

Wallenpaupack flexed its ground game and controlled the rivalry from start to finish Friday night, rolling past visiting Honesdale 37–6 in Hawley. The Buckhorns led 7–0 after one, hit the gas with a 17-point second quarter, and put it out of reach with two more rushing scores in the third.

Honesdale’s lone highlight came midway through the second quarter when the Hornets’ defense jumped a route for a pick-six; the two-point rush was stopped, leaving Wallenpaupack in front 7–6. From there, the Buckhorns answered with back-to-back rushing touchdowns and tacked on a field goal in the final minute of the half to build a 24–6 cushion at the break.

Wallenpaupack kept pounding after halftime, punching in two third-quarter rushing TDs (one PAT missed, one good) to stretch the margin to 37–6 entering the fourth. The Buckhorns’ defense did the rest, blanking Honesdale in three of four quarters and closing it out without allowing an offensive touchdown.

Honesdale will begin league play next Friday at Mid Valley while Wallenpaupack begins their league schedule at North Pocono.
