DUNMORE 50, HONESDALE 8
Dunmore dominated from start to finish Friday night, overpowering Honesdale in a 50–8 rout that showcased the Bucks’ balance and physicality on both sides of the ball.
The Bucks built a 21–8 halftime lead, then broke the game wide open in the second half with 29 unanswered points. Dunmore’s defense set the tone early, stuffing the run and forcing turnovers that led to short-field opportunities for the offense.
Behind a strong offensive line, Ryan Mecca led the offense with 108 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
Honesdale briefly showed life in the second quarter, capitalizing on a defensive stop to score its lone touchdown, but the Hornets couldn’t generate momentum after halftime. Dunmore’s defense tightened further, allowing almost no yardage in the final two quarters.
With the win, Dunmore improved to 5–4 overall and 2–2 in Lackawanna Football Conference Division II play. Honesdale dropped to 3–6 and 1–3 in the division.
Dunmore travels to Western Wayne next week, while Honesdale will face West Scranton.
