NORTH POCONO 35, DALLAS 14

Joe Briskie ran for three touchdowns and quarterback Chase Zimmerman had an efficient night to help keep North Pocono unbeaten with a 35-14 victory over visiting Dallas Friday in a non-league game between District 2 Class 4A teams.

Dallas threatened on the first drive, but Max LaFave picked off a pass in the end zone for the first of his two interceptions.

Zimmerman then threw deep down the left sideline to Cole West for a 56-yard touchdown.

West caught five passes for 159 yards. Zimmerman was 6-for-10 for 182 yards and turned one of his two carries into a touchdown.

Briskie, who ran for 111 yards on 20 carries, scored the next three touchdowns. He ran for 17- and 2-yard touchdowns in the second quarter for a 21-0 halftime lead.

After Briskie ran 11 yards for a score in the first minute of the second half, Zimmerman’s 4-yard run midway through the third quarter sent the game into the running clock of the Mercy Rule.

Dallas got touchdowns runs of 4 yards from Mark Saracinaj and 73 yards from Luke Kostick in the fourth quarter.

North Pocono (2-0 in the division, 6-0 overall) is at Valley View (2-1, 4-2) Friday night in an important Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 game.

Dallas (1-1, 1-5) is home in a Wyoming Valley Conference game against Wyoming Valley West. The Spartans were 1-1 and 1-4 going into Saturday night’s non-league game at Executive Education.
