DALLAS 7, CRESTWOOD 0
In a game defined by defense and missed chances, Dallas made one big play and two key interceptions stand up Friday night, outlasting Crestwood, 7–0, in a Wyoming Valley Conference clash at Mountaineer Stadium.
After three scoreless quarters, Dallas broke through early in the fourth. Quarterback Talan Geskey connected with Sam Kelley on a short route that turned into a 45-yard gain down the right sideline to the Crestwood 19. Three plays later, Geskey capped the drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Mountaineers the only points they would need.
Crestwood had its opportunities. The Comets moved inside the red zone late in the game, but Tyce Mason intercepted a fourth-down pass at the 3-yard line with just 24 seconds remaining—his second interception of the night. Mason’s earlier pick in the end zone to close the first half prevented another potential score.
Statistically, Crestwood outgained Dallas behind quarterback Jaden Shedlock, who rushed for 121 yards and threw for 133 yards. However, penalties and missed opportunities proved costly. The Comets were flagged 11 times for 75 yards and missed a 37-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Dallas leaned heavily on its defense throughout, winning the line of scrimmage and forcing key turnovers in the red zone. Linebackers filled gaps to contain the run, and the secondary tackled soundly to prevent big plays.
The victory keeps Dallas among the top contenders in the conference, improving its playoff positioning as the regular season winds down.
Dallas leapfrogs Crestwood in the Class 4A standings and will visit Hazleton Area next Friday. Crestwood is back home against Wilkes-Barre.
