Highly efficient nights from Dewayne Downey and Logan Richardson carried Hanover Area to a 63-0 rout of visiting Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech in a Friday non-league game.
Downey needed just five carries to run for four touchdowns, three of which came while the Hawkeyes were building a 42-0 lead after one quarter. He finished with 81 yards rushing.
Logan Richardson completed 12 of 13 passes for 207 yards. He hit Deacon Eisenbach with a 21-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and found Connor Richardson seven times for 143 yards.
Hanover Area scored four touchdowns in less than two minutes late in the first quarter, then added two more second-quarter scores for a 56-0, halftime lead.
Dewayne Downey started and ended the four-touchdown flurry in the first quarter. That stretch also included the touchdown pass and a 16-yard run by Dawin Downey.
Eisenbach had two first-quarter touchdowns, including a 60-yard punt return. Dawin Downey also finished with two touchdowns.
Brody Richardson ran for one of the second-quarter scores.
Hanover Area has won four of its last six games, all by shutout while scoring at least 40 points.
The Hawkeyes (1-2 in the division and 4-4 overall) are at Lake-Lehman (2-2, 4-4) Friday night.
