BERWICK 48, HAZLETON AREA 6

Ty’Meere Wilkerson scored four touchdowns as Berwick shook off an early Hazleton Area score to defeat the host Cougars, 48-6, in a non-league game between Wyoming Valley Conference teams.

Wilkerson surpassed 200 yards rushing for the third time this season and seventh time since midway through last season.

Freddy Corrado passed 30 yards down the middle to Logan Gennaro for a Hazleton Area touchdown on the opening possession.

Wilkerson kept the Bulldogs undefeated with touchdowns of 23 yards in the first quarter, 57 and 2 yards in the second quarter and 69 yards in the third.

Ashton Smith passed 41 yards to Alex Estrella and ran 46 yards for another score.

Gavin Galutia scored Berwick’s other touchdown on a 9-yard run.

Berwick (4-0) is at Hanover Area (2-2) in a WVC Division 2 game Friday night.

Hazleton Area (1-3) goes to Wyoming Valley West (0-4) for a WVC Division 1 game Friday.
