VALLEY VIEW 21, NORTH POCONO 14

Nick Kucharski scored two touchdowns including an acrobatic catch in the end zone as Valley View won their sixth straight game with a 21-14 victory over North Pocono.

The Cougars controlled play for a majority of the game, but had many self-inflicted errors including two turnovers and multiple penalties.

After getting an intital first down, North Pocono was forced to punt and Beyon McLean returned the punt 65 yards to the Trojans four yardline. Kucharski scored on the first play from scrimmage for a 7-0 lead.

After another Trojans punt, the Cougars put together a long drive only to have a touchdown pass on 4th down called back on a penalty. The next play so tight end jet sweep pass from Gianni Marino intercepted by Chase Zimmerman.

North Pocono put together a 11 play drive to the Valley View 5 yardline, but the Cougars blocked a Sam Magnotta field goal attempt.

On the very next play, a missed handoff by the Cougars was fumbled and recovered by North Pocono at the Valley View 19 yardline. The Trojans would convert a 4th and 6 on a Zimmerman to West completion. Brady Lavery would score on the next play from 5 yards out. However, the extra point was blocked and lead remained for Valley View 7-6

The Cougars would put together a 14-play, 77 yard drive finished off when quarterback Zach Cwalinski found Kucharski at the back of the end with a diving catch for a 14-6 lead at halftime.

Valley View punted on their first possession and North Pocono drove into Valley View territory, but was stopped on a 4th and 1 and a turnover on downs.

The Cougars would take that momentum with a 7-play, 74 yard drive capped off by a Cwalinski 12-yard touchdown run and a 21-6 lead.

North Pocono put togther another long drive that went into the fourth quarter only to be stopped on 4th down again.

After getting one first down, Valley View punted and it was North Pocono with a good punt return plus a penalty on the Cougars that gave the Trojans great field position on the 36. On 3rd down, Zimmerman would find Cole West for a five-yard TD reception and a 2-point conversion to make it 21-14.

However, the Cougars were able to grind out two first downs and run out the clock to seal the victory.

Valley View (6-1 overall, 3-1) will return home next Friday and host Delaware Valley. North Pocono (3-4, 0-3) has lost four straight games and will host Scranton next week,
