CARBONDALE 22, SUSQUEHANNA 12
Ethan Brewen ran for three touchdowns to help Carbondale rally from a deficit for a 22-12 win over Susquehanna at the Cerra Sports Complex.
After a scoreless first quarter, William Marcy returned a fumble 75 yards to set up the Sabers in Carbondale territory. The Sabers would score first on a Marcy 5-yard touchdown reception from Weston Yannone and a 6-0 lead that would remain until halftime.
The Chargers would tie the game on Brewen’s 1-yard touchdown run, but Marcy would get Susquehanna the lead back with a 1-yard touchdown run and a 12-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Carbondale continued to ride Brewen who had 120 rushing yards on the evening. He would score from 4 yards out and successful two-point run would make it 14-12. Brewen would have another 4-yard touchdown run with 3:00 minutes remaining to seal the victory.
Carbondale (5-4 overall, 2-2) qualified for the Class 3A playoffs and will finish the regular season at home against Old Forge. Susquehanna (5-4, 1-3) will play their annual Friday night home game against Holy Cross.
