Recap

LACKAWANNA TRAIL 28, DUNMORE 7
At Dunmore High School, Lackawanna Trail moved to 3-1 and kept the Bucks winless as the Lions defeated Dunmore 28-7.

The homestanding Bucks drew first blood, using the strong arm of quarterback, Jack McNeff. The senior quarterback hooked up with sophomore wideout, Jacob Costanzo, on a gorgeous 28-yard scoring play to put the Bucks ahead 7-0 with 5:38 left to play in the opening stanza.

The rest of the first half belonged to Isaac Ryon. The workhorse tailback notched three scoring runs to pace the Lions. With 2:28 remaining in the first period, Ryon rambled 18 yards for his first touchdown. The extra point was missed and the Bucks held on to a 7-6 advantage.

Less than a minute into the second quarter. Ryon struck again, this time from 30 yards out on a run that showed both his speed and power. The score and point after put the Lions ahead for good at 13-7.

The very next time the Lions touched the football, Ryon posted his longest run of the night, a 41-yard sprint to paydirt. Following the two-point conversion, Lackawanna Trail had a 21-7 cushion with 8:43 before intermission. That turned out to be the halftime score.

Trail struck quickly in the second half, this time using the other member of their outstanding running back duo, Demitrius Douglas. Douglas gashed the Buck defense with a 15-yard scoring burst to complete the scoring at 28-7. Since their Week 2 loss to Western Wayne, the Lions have now outscored their last two opponents by a count of 63-7.

Dunmore (0-4) will look to post their first victory of the season next week when they host resurgent Carbondale Area. Lackawanna Trail (3-1) will host a showdown against unbeaten Mid-Valley on Friday night.
